Linz’s Musings – Take Advantage of Opportunities

It’s great to finally see some of the restrictions starting to ease here in Melbourne. Some genuine light at the end of the tunnel! It’s been tough but looks like the hard work is starting to pay off.
I’ve been able to get a good fix of footy recently. I’m a passionate fan of the mighty Melbourne Storm and loved seeing them win yet another premiership!
A lot of commentary at the time was all about how the opposition played better and should have won (Apparently would have if the game went an extra five minutes).
The reality is the Storm capitalised on their opportunities while the Penrith Panthers did not. The game was won early, the Panthers tried to play catch up, and weren’t successful.
The Storm, with big game experience, had the right mindset and knew what to do. While the Panthers, less experienced, were overwhelmed by the occasion.
As a property investor, much can be learned from this example. Successful investing has to do with mindset and being able to take advantage of opportunities, regardless of the resistance.
You can be in the midst of a pandemic and recession (or a hostile crowd and two less players) but still have the confidence to know you’re going to win.
The truth is despite the media white noise, the US residential property market is red hot for investment opportunities if you’re willing to take them.
Mindset is the key to being able to be in a position to take advantage of these opportunities.
